Yah, I know my blog is not always updated because I was 'busy'. Busy in FB, busy studying, busy preparing for exam, bla bla bla.

Time really flies. Hectic life in my college. Exam, exam, exam. Having around 100 exams in a year sounds crazy right? Haizz...That's life.

Some highlights for the year(not in sequence):

1. Getting good results for my SPM with God's blessings. Unexpected and expected.

2. Oh yes, KL trip with buddiesssssss. Fun and exciting. How can I forget that? Good times together. Again, with God's blessings, we can went there together :) Our next trip is set, perhaps we can make it through.

3. Woohoooo! Won TWO iPads in a year! Sold one and the other one is still with me. Won one from an international contest, unexpectedly. The other one? Was expected to win. Haha. Yerr, don't get jealous lah.

4. Won a HTC ChaCha by writing a slogan! Sold to my friend. Hehe :p

5. Won around RM150 Starbucks vouchers from different contests. Shared with some of my friends. Treat me next time guys ^_^

6. Won few things lagi...lazy to mention here. Look for my FB album and you'll know.

7. Having a few fun trips with my college's friends. Hopefully we can do more next time :]

8. OMG. Big exams coming up next week!

9. Awwwwr...will be starting my ACCA courses on 3rd January 2012. My holiday~ :(

10. College's Year End Student Party will be held pretty soon~ Hopefully everything will be fine!

11. KL trip again. This time is with my family. They have not been there for a quite a long time. Looking forwards to it.

12. When year end is getting nearer, my burstday is getting sooner! My birthday wishlist is on the right sidebar there *winks winks* Nah, just kidding =P

Hopefully this is my last post for the year *so that I do not need to update it soon...hehe!

Went to Starbucks, The Spring, with my two friends on the last weekend. Thinking we are rich for having coffee there? You are absolutely wrong...bahahahaha XD

And I have won 4 vouchers worth RM56! Because of the expired date is getting nearer and nearer, so we decided to go there during Saturday for a chit-chat time. Nahhh...

My Most Memorable Online Shopping Experience

Nowadays, online shopping is very popular in the world , because it is so convenient to our life. Shopping on the Internet, or shopping online, is being more and more popular.

It was my very first time to try eBay and I loved it so much. eBay, a popular online shopping site, has been around for years already but it was only in 2009 that I signed up an account with it and browsed through its shopping catalogs. I once heard a blogger friend said US and UK sellers are the best. They’re easy to deal with and they ship products for real. And so with this testimony, I made sure UK and US sellers would be my priority.

My first eBay purchase? A Polaroid One Step CloseUp 600 Film Instant Camera! Armed with my Paypal account(with my father's credit card...haha), I bought the camera for RM100++ including the postage fees in 2009.

Around three weeks later...

My camera was finally arrived at my house all the way from United States. Here is my lovely instant camera!

The camera is so nice although it is second-handed. I think the camera was taken care properly by the seller. Glad that the camera is functioning perfectly :)

The camera was packed nicely in a box. Thanks to the seller for the good packaging because the camera was travelling for three weeks in the box safely. Haha!

Overall, I'm satisfied with the service provided by the seller. She answered every questions I asked her in a polite manner and fast response. She is indeed a good seller huh~

After this great experience shopping online, I bought another camera again the next few months(my pocket money...TT). It is called Holga Micro-110. Guess how much did I buy it? I bought it for around RM30 only. Should I say it is cheap? But it is so cute! Now I know that "cheap and cheerful" can be at the same time. LOL.

Know why I buy cameras online? Because I can't find any camera shops selling those special cameras in my hometown! Furthermore, I can save a lot too. eBay is a place where you can find good bargains and hard-to-find unique goods not found anywhere else.

Overall my experience with shopping on eBay has been a positive one. Although shipping is always a problem (some of them took like 2 months to arrive from Hong Kong), I think such things are beyond the sellers’ control. They don’t dictate the actions of the mailing or shipping companies. And they don’t control the weather either. All the merchandise I purchased came to me without any problems. Yes, I have to admit, some of the products I had bought, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. But then again, if you want quality stuff, then you will have to fork out the money. I normally purchase from eBay to save some money on some stuff which were not urgently needed. Remember, some delivery would takes months to arrive! Seems to me that Hong Kong Airmail is the culprit.

Shopping at eBay is always fun. Waiting for the items to arrive is another story, especially if they come from the United States and the United Kingdom. While it is recommended to shop at eBay in your own country, you can’t just deprive yourself of the wide offerings from abroad. If you think the item is worth the long wait, grab it at once. A package from the US or UK or just about any country overseas can go anywhere from 1 week to 2 months before reaching you.

If you are thinking of shopping online, my advise to you is to go small. Don’t buy expensive stuff. Buy the cheap goods first. After having some experience with online retailers, you should be able to know which retailers are reputable and reliable and which are not. It is not something that can be easily taught. My motto is “If it is too good to be true, then it probably is” and when you do shopping online, it is exactly the same thing. So go ahead and enjoy your online shopping. Don’t let a few errand retailers ruin your day.

Before I finish my post, I guess this is a great news to all the Malaysian! So, here it is...

Flipping through Facebook and suddenly saw a post by BROS. And guess what, they are giving out FREE BROS bottles if your blog post sharing about them is spotted!

Yay, I love the designs created by BROS so much that I want to own them all. For the time being, I only have these 2 bottles now. Here are them...hehe...^^

I bought them because my old bottles are so big and heavy >_<...Ever since I bought these BROS bottles, I'm relieved now...hahaha...

There are so many designs created by BROS and the designs are colourful and amazing! I want them badly. Some creative bottles captured my desire to buy them but I couldn't find them in any place. So sad right...?

Kuchingites, don't you feel so hot these few days or for the last few weeks? I'm damn hot now! >.<

Some of my friends even unlucky that their electricity being cut off a few times. Thanks to Sesco!

So, what have you done to keep yourself cool? Drink more water? Keep bathing? Maybe some of you tried this before but not work at all? Or you turn on the air-conditioner 24/7? OMG, your bill must be rocket high end of this month...LOL...

While Facebook-ing, I saw this interesting wall post---20 fun ways to stay cool in the heat of summer. Perhaps this will help us! Let me extract all the tips given in that website...hehe...

1. WATER BALLOONS

Buy a few packages of water balloons, get a group of friends together, pull the hose out onto the lawn and get wet and wild.

2. ICE SKATING

A spot that will start your teeth chattering is the local indoor ice skating rink. Hang out and watch the skaters or better yet… brave it and hit the ice (hopefully, not literally)!

3. SLIP N' SLIDE

This one's for the kids only: A Slip n’ Slide party! It’s cool. It’s fun. It’s refreshing. Grownups: Cool off by watching the real kids go at it, instead.

4. WATER WAR

It’s war -- with water! Invite friends over with their best water guns and Super Soakers. Form teams and let the war begin. Keep dry towels and cools drinks on hand for later when it’s time to make peace.

5. KIDDY POOL

Buy an inexpensive inflatable kiddy pool. Inflate and toss it on the patio under an overhang or somewhere in the shade. Fill it with 4 inches of water. Grab a cool drink, a good book and then sit in the pool and enjoy!

A couple of good movies, an extra large tub of popcorn and a huge soft drink are perfect for helping you forget how hot it is outside. Go with a friend or go alone.

7. A COLD FOODS DINNER

Hot food on a hot day? Why? Consider cold shrimp salad, chicken salad, cold gazpacho soup, cold steak wraps and a cold dessert instead.

8. ICE CREAM SUNDAE POT LUCK

Nothing says “cool” better than ice cream! Invite a bunch of friends over and ask everyone to bring an interesting ice cream flavor plus one topping. Spend the day sampling different creative combinations of sundaes. Keep in mind, this party will stretch across the entire day with ice cream being your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

9. WATER PARK

Buy a large Styrofoam ice chest, head out to the nearest "dollar store" and get inexpensive sea-like creature such a seashells and maybe even boats and mermaid dolls. Fill the styrofoam ice chest with water, toss in your "dollar store" finds, let your kids don their snorkel and let them dive in for a few hours of sea adventure!

18. WINTER PARTY

Throw a Christmas party in the middle of summer! Sing Christmas carols, watch the movie White Christmas, decorate an artificial tree, drink hot cocoa and, of course, turn down the a/c!

19. TOUR A CAVE

Have you ever taken a tour of a cave or cavern? Besides being beautiful, they are always cold and damp. A warm jacket and long pants will be welcome, even if it’s hot, hot, hot outside.

The Movie: PRIEST

Synopsis:
PRIEST, a western-fused post-apocalyptic thriller, is set in an alternate world — one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. “The Ghosts Must Be Crazy” is the new upcoming movie of J Team Productions. There are 2 stories in the movie , ”The Day Off” and “Ghost Bride”.

Directed by Boris Boo (director of “Phua Chu Kang The Movie”), “The Day Off” is about Ah Nan (John Cheng) and Ah Lei (Wang Lei) going for their annual in-camp training and they meet a very “on” Platoon Commander. They know that they are going to suffer this time round so they decide to cheat for MC. However, the Platoon Commander does not buy their idea and chases them away.

The Platoon Commander launches a series of rigorous trainings and everyone is complaining. Ah Nan and Ah Lei decide to play a trick on their Platoon Commander as a form of revenge. As they about to start their revenge, a series of strange things happen……..

The second story of the movie is directed by the first time director, Mark Lee, a comedian and host familiar to most households. “Ghost Bride” is about a man Ah Hui (Henry Thia) who is unlucky in love. He meets a stranger, Ah Hai (Mark Lee), who promises him fortune and blessings if he seeks help from 'brothers and sisters' in the netherworld. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to receive Gingerbread update

Sony Ericsson which was previously plagued by legacy Android versions is turning for the better. For 2011, we’ve seen the new range of Xperia arc, Xperia Play, Xperia Pro and Xperia Neo which runs on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

With the newer models running the latest versions, Sony Ericsson has announced via its product blog that it will also extend its latest Gingerbread development on its former Xperia X10 devices which carries the version number of 2.3.3. Several months back, Sony Ericsson had released its Android 2.1 Eclair update for the X10 and with no future updates expected after that.

Why the change of heart? According to Sony Ericsson, they had listened to feedbacks and their recent development of Gingerbread integration for its current line also made it possible to extend such upgrades for the Xperia X10. Unfortunately this coming upgrade is only applicable for the top of the line Xperia X10 and there are no plans to extend this for Xperia X10 mini, X10 pro and X8.

The Xperia X10 Gingerbread update is expected to roll out between Q2 and Q3 this year, which is probably as early as next month or as late as September. Considering Gingerbread is a huge update that skips Froyo, some functionalities will be lost such as:

The current plan is that the Xperia^TM X10 will get the Android standard Camera user interface and therefore features like e.g. face recognition, smile shutter etc will be lost.
Moxier is replaced by the gingerbread native EAS functionality.
Mediascape is being replaced by the media experience widgets and music player included in our new 2011 products.
DRM keys for protected content on your phone will be lost in the upgrade process.
The Sony Ericsson Backup and Restore client is not supported in the Gingerbread version and will therefore be lost.
Support for bi-directional languages will be reduced compared to the latest version of the 2.1 version of the Xperia^TM X10.

Great to see Sony Ericsson being proactive with Android software updates and if this goes as plan, it will certainly gain back confidence from Sony Ericsson loyalists out there.

MARA Scholarship Interview

What previous MARA scholars say...
Some think that the interview is just for formality’s sake. But it doesn’t mean that you’re allowed to slack during the interview. You still have to do your best; after all, you aren’t guaranteed a scholarship, yet.

About the interview
Who: The interview will be conducted by 2 MARA officers.
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Language: The interview is conducted in English

How is the interview done?
You’ll be interviewed by a panel of 2-1. So yes, it’s only you, and 2 MARA officers. Questions posed will be about MARA as well, so make sure you do enough research on MARA – what is the organization about, their objectives, their activities etc.

Common questions asked
1. Introduce yourself
2. Tell us about your hometown, co-curricular achievements
3. Why choose MARA, not JPA?
4. Anything about being a Bumiputra (especially if you are of mixed parentage, like Chinese-Bidayuh, or Indian-Kadazan)
5. Which country do you want to pursue your studies, and why?
6. Why do you choose this field to study?
7. What do you know about *the field of study chosen*? (and other questions related to your chosen course, such as the development of the field, how can you contribute to it)
8. What do you want to specialize in? (Usually for those taking medicine – For your information they WILL ask you more about your choice, so RESEARCH. A LOT)
9. How can you contribute to MARA in the future?
10. Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

Other things you should know
- Be updated with current news/events locally and internationally. Read the newspaper daily. and understand some of the current issues.
- Organize your certificates properly
- Do plenty of research. Make sure you know MARA and your chosen course well. This is so that you come prepared!

There’s nothing wrong with practicing in front of a mirror, because it helps! You don’t want to come across as memorizing a script, do try to appear calm and relaxed (although the whole process can be nerve-wrecking!).

Telekom Malaysia (TM) Scholarship Interview

About the interview
Stages: Two. 1st is the interview, 2nd stage is for those who are short-listed to attend a camp. (It may vary)
Duration: The interview – About 30 minutes. The camp – 2 Days 1 Night
Language: English

How the interview is conducted
The interview is conducted with a panel of 4 interviewers, and with 4 applicants, each applying for different courses. As with any other interviews, you will need to research about TM, and the course you’ve applied for.

Common questions asked
1. Introduce yourself (take about 2 minutes)
2. Why did you choose TM?
3. If you get other scholarship offers, which one would you accept, and why?
4. Why did you choose the course?
5. Which university do you want to go to? Why?
6. What is your biggest achievement?
7. What are your weaknesses?
8. What is TM? (and other questions related to the company and its subsidiaries)

The Camp
The camp is for the shortlisted applicants, in which they would be separated into 2 groups, and have a tutor for each group. Observations will be made, so be as proactive as you can. Pass activities held during camp were:

1. Essay writing and EQ test
2. Completing a jigsaw puzzle
3. Discussion. It can be about politics or religion, conducted mostly in English
4. Creating/designing using anything you can find around the area. The creation/design is then presented to the TM officials
5. Role playing. List all the positions available in a business organization (from CEO to Janitor) and have to elaborate your reasons for choosing the position. (You might have to fight for the position, but be gracious!)
6. Other fun activities and games.

Other things you should know…
- Always volunteer to lead the group or to start the discussion, but give others a chance. Don’t overdo it.
- Be outspoken, outgoing, and try to stand out
- Actively participate in all the activities
- Make friends with your camp buddies
- Have teamwork!

About the Interview

Stages: 3 Main stages. 1^st – Group Discussion, 2^nd – Essay Writing, 3^rd – The Interview

Modules may vary

Stage 1: Group Discussion

Students are usually put into a group of 4 or 5.

Last year’s topic was: You are given a huge amount of budget. Please plan on how to build a Malaysian Landmark i.e. skyscrapers. Please minimize your budget. You must give your presentation on this.

Key things for this assessment:

Be moderate, don’t be bossy
Remain calm, but speak out loud and clear
Share your ideas during the group discussion, and don’t shut other ideas out
Take the chance to speak during the presentation
Give fresh ideas and opinions
Support your arguments with solid evidence (examples, ideas)

Stage 2: Essay writing

This is to test your proficiency of English and your ideas. They want to look at how you organize your thoughts.

Polish up on your grammar and writing skills
Be able to express ideas
Read a lot – Newspapers, books, etc.
If you have internet access, look for articles on economic and social issues
Find out about a few economic terms such as Sub Prime, Deficit, IMF, GDP

Stage 3: Personal Interview

The questions posed will be related to Bank Negara or any economic issues and/or development. Be sure that the answer you give must relate back to Bank Negara. I was so busy that I totally forgot to post my trip photos in my blog...haiy...

Yah..I was traveling with my family members to KK back in December last year.
This was a budget trip...Why I said like that?==

Traveled to KK from Kuching using AirAsia...Traveled back using MAS...

Stayed at Tune Hotel...the hotel rooms are sucks!

Well, I'm sure you guys know that their rooms are cheap. Their rooms are super duper small.

Even though it is cheap, but I don't believe that they don't have money to install locks for the toilets...OMG!...No LOCKS for the toilets, man! Imagine you stay with your friends...I will not stay at Tune hotels anymore.

Visited quite a number of places during the trip. But during the Christmas, no christmas mood at all for the people there...Quite boring...

Love the beach...Love the islands...Love the fish spa...Love the FOOD!

How to apply for JPA scholarships?

Well, I did not wrote this one...I just found this in the recom.org and wanna share with you guys. If you are planning to apply for this scholarship(need to get very very very good result baru can get orhhh...><), then I advise you to read through this article(although it is long~). I think that this article is very useful for you if you have the opportunity to apply for this big reward...Happy reading~

Hi all and I'm a Recom-mer who used to surf this site for a long time for the latest info and I've gained endless benefits from this site, for free. Thus I'm here trying to share my experience and things that I know throughout the application of JPA Scholarship for the year 2008 with other Recom-mers.

This' what I experienced on 2008, obviously there're changes on 2009 (onwards). Thus I'm not sure if the information I've written expires or not. Anyway, I hope this article could clarify most questions in students applying for JPA Scholarship. Here it goes.

Many post SPM students will start to worry about their coming JPA interview after the release of their results. So I am too. But I've becoming a 'senior' of JPA interview already; I just had my interview on 4th April 2008 (8am, Panel 1, in INTURA in Sungai Petani). Here I would like to share with you all the information I've gathered so far before and after the JPA interview. Hope this will be helpful for people like me (who worry a lot and tried much on searching info about JPA things). I mean those who're goin' to have their JPA interview on 09' or so.

The JPA scholarship registration will be open right after the SPM result is released (early-mid of March), and only 2 weeks (14 days) are allocated for you all to fill the registration form. No mailing is required. This can be said as phase one. Just submit your info and cross your fingers to be shortlisted.

Before you register that scholarship, you need to sign up your IC number and your name to make an ID in eSila; so that you can proceed with your scholarship registration (there you fill your personal information). Make sure that you fill your details (especially IC number) correctly. Once it's submitted, it will be hard to undo the changes.

The online form is quite linear, compared to some other scholarships' online form. Just point your cursor (mouse) to the word "Panduan" if you need help on how to fill. Read carefully and follow everything stated there. There's one little bug I noticed from that form. In that salary section, they require you to fill 000.00 as asked in "Panduan" if your parent(s) have no income. But after submitting it, the value is changed to 0.00. That?s normal; don't waste your chance just to edit this value. It cannot be changed to 000.00. How I know this? It?s because I've tried on this year- and thus wasted 1 chance for editing.

For those whose parents are doing their own business (no salary), just divide annual profit by 12 (as one year got 12 months, right?). The annual profit's figure can be obtained from the Borang B or J or things like that. But it's still advisable to seek help from teachers or accountants for 100% precise answer.

Read the information given before filling the form. The rest shouldn't be a problem. Fill them up just like a normal online form. If I'm not wrong it's required to be filled in CAPITAL LETTERS. Don't forget this. After filling everything up, double check and submit it.

Check the site frequently. Normally the shortlisted name list will be released just one or two days after the closing date of online application (end of March). For those who take Medicine (Kedoktoran), keep your eyes open for the Kursus Kerjaya list (earlier). And it's compulsory to participate. Don't serve it as a trip to hospital or something. Notice everything you see and learn things from there. The reason is... continue-reading. Those who joined this kursus and think that they regretted still can change their mind. But it's during the interview day. Wait till that day and let the secretary (I prefer to say kerani ><) know that you want to change course. Ok. Let?s say you're shortlisted. Congrats. You're one step nearer to the scholarship. Don't forget the interview time, panel, and location. What to prepare? This will be your big question. You got a few things to take care of. I say: attire, self-introduction, documents and... er mental-preparation + confidence. What to wear?
A-must (in my opinion):
Males:
Slack (black or brown)
Leather shoes (I dunno how to say in English, in BM, kasut kulit, brown or black)
Alternative: 'Kasut batu' (I think the noise is quite annoying, it's up to you)
Long sleeve (You should know what is it, personally I think plain coloured one is better, try to avoid those with fancy stripes with different colours)
Tie (Must must must, don't ignore this)
Belt (I didn't wear it there, I think it's not really important)

Females:
Baju kurung (oh gawd, girls are lucky. Just get 1 set of baju kurung and you're done!)
Alternative: Males' attire (the interviewers consist of MALAY mostly; you know... you know... So personally I think the former- baju kurung is much better)
Leather shoes (Yeah it looks weird with baju kurung, but I saw more than 90% of them wearing this for interview)

Oh, some ask whether can wear National Service's attire or not. Try not to. I don't think it's formal.

How about batik (for males)? This one is the real formal dressing. But I really got no idea. So far I noticed, nobody wears this.

Coat (Kot in BM)? Yes, it really makes you look professional. But be prepared to be showered with tough questions (I think so). As it's like you're sticking a note on your forehead 'shoot me'. Try to be moderate lah... Why try so hard to be so special out of them? No point right? (But I saw got people wear this during the interview session. You can wear, but reconsider ><)
What to fit in your clear holder?
According to this year's (2008, latest, we know this only when we're in the interviewing place), the arrangement goes this way:

1. Slip Temu Duga (printed)
2. Slip Pemohonan (printed)
3. Your IC (original, leave 1 blank page for this. Just take out your IC and fit into this page when you're reporting to kerani, maybe you still need IC to do something else right?)
4. Your birth cert (original)
5. Father's birth cert (original)
6. Mother's birth cert (original)
7. Surat kewarganegaraan (of your parents, original, ONLY for parents who're born before Independence Day, in case you dunno >< color="RoyalBlue">"Try not to be arrogant while mentioning IT even though your performance is very good" -AnnDeBlurry, milkshake
10. Sijil Tamat Sekolah (original, the one with all the details of you, including your co-curricular performance and so)
11. Slip gaji (original)
Alternative: For those whose parents have their own business (bekerja sendiri), grab the returned Borang B or J or BE or (other code, I dunno much about this) and put the whole thing into that transparent A4 pocket. I've asked a lot other people and they suggested this, because there're no other better proves to prove their salary who do business themselves, since past 2 years (2006 I think), there's no return slip anymore. If not, we need to present that slip but not the Borang thing. So no slip gaji is needed anymore for this.
12. Borang pengesahan pendapatan (printed, filled)
*** Only get them signed by your Pengetua/ Penolong Kanan, but not Guru Kanan Mata Pelajaran, as what stated in the guideline provided with online borang pengesahan pendapatan, which is a PDF file. Maybe the interviewers aren't really gone into this, but just in case if you meet the choosy ones...

Provide a certified (yang disah, the photocopied version of slip temu duga, slip pemohonan and borang pengesahan gaji don't really need to be certified anymore, but if you want to, just go with it) photocopied set of the documents (stated in 1 to 12, ALL of them, they need to take back the copied set) and just put them in a transparent pocket or an envelope or take it with bare hands, you choose. Clip them together anyway you like, or you just take them there and give the job to the kerani. Paperclips are there, don't worry.

Anything else to prepare before-hand?
Write a script on self introduction. It's not 100%, just in case they need you to introduce yourselves. Include these things:
1. Name (for sure ==)
2. Last previous school (meaning you graduated from which secondary school)
3. Parents occupation (businessman, grocer, full-time housewife or so)
4. Siblings (Just say got how many brothers and/or sisters. If many of them are still studying, let them know; if all of them already graduated and can support your family... don't mention this until they ask you. This' kind of strategy heh)
5. Your co-curricular activities (This one is the real thing, say what achievements you got and do self-promotion and squeeze everything you got to them, try to make stars appear around you. But in my interview, I was not asked bout own co-curricular activities, thus I got no chance for this)
6. Which course you choose (with country)
7. Why you choose this course
8. Why you choose this country

Just know what you going to say. Memorising doesn't really help. As you need eye contact when communicate with the interviewers, and to me that time, I can?t load anything out of my memory--- I just said anything I thought of that time. So... memorising is a waste... trust me (or depends on how one thinks maybe :/ )

Let?s do a bit fast forward, enough for a few days of torturing (for people like me). It's the day. Go to the interviewing place you selected in that online form. Fetch the location map before-hand if you really don't know where it is. Don't lose this golden opportunity because of you are lost or dunno how to reach there that day.

You're on your formal attire, holding a clear holder. And having one or two pens (or pencils) in your pocket, as well as 1 thick covered notebook (some people bring test pad or A4 papers with plastic folder). You need a thick one as a base because there is no table provided for you to write, so most probably you write on your thigh and of course something hard is needed so that you can write really fast!

Upon reaching there, search for name lists and sign beside your name (that doesn't really matter, if I?m not wrong). And proceed to the kerani(s); most probably they're just next to the door of interviewing room, insulated. There, you have to sign your name this time, to show that you're present. And then the kerani will ask you to take the original copy out, as well as the photocopied ones. She/he will check and make a few marks there and they're kept. This means you're not bringing the documents into the room. The kerani's will do for you. The groups are arranged this way: 8am, 10am, 2pm or maybe got other time. Most probably it'll be done in 2 rounds or 3, each round take more or less 1 hour. So this means you really got to wait there long unless you're lucky enough being the first batch to enter the interviewing room. Relax and check who's goin' to be with you. Try to be familiar with them and make friends with them. Talk and share things with them. I did that and it really feels great. Of course if you want to, mix with others from other panel and group too! This'll temporarily make you forget about that interview thing and relax for a bit.

When it's your turn, the kerani will give you all number-tag and wear them. The interview is done in group, not one by one into the room (solo). She/he will ask you all to line up at the door to the interviewing room. IF you're the first one, I got to say that... you're lucky (or not, I got number one too ^^). Take a deep breath. Knock the door, stick your head in, greet them and ask permission to go in. Just say it loud enough. They WILL reply to you, don't worry. Go in and stand right in front of the seat according to number. Wait until they allow you all to sit, thank them and sit. Mind your sitting posture. Leg-shakers, learn not to do it in front of the interviewers! You really don't notice you're doin' that if you don't pay attention to that. Don't kill your opportunity.

They real game begins. The way it starts will be different. Some of the interviewers will add a little seasoning so that they're not bored of the repeating routine. So, prepare yourself for anything surprising ><>there are three:
1. Introduction to yourselves, followed by discussion and personal questions.
2. Discussion and personal questions (You just state your name and school before you talk about your opinion, which would be nicer. Ish, I forgot to do that T.T)
3. Introduction to yourselves and personal questions ONLY (Oh, you're da' lucky man!)

The questions vary from current issue to unexpected ones. We say, no politics at our age, but during our year (2008 ), some of them were asked opinion about the General Election throughout the session (oh ****). Crazily, some were asked about their favourite TV show (or which they watched recently) and why they chose that. Another is: What's the headline of yesterday? This' the question for one of my Alor Setar friend. That night before he didn't read nation headlines, but only sports. Thus he just told them what he knew, which is, the result of soccer match (which team win which team by how much). The interviewers laughed. Is is a good sign? Nobody knows. Anyway he's one of the JPA scholar now, too.

These questions are really unexpected. Just be alert and I don't think you can really prepare for this :/ Read newspapers daily and this might help. If you're asked current issue, the list is here: (Thanks to other Recom-mers)

The question discussed in my own interview session is "My mission and my vision", we're blank for a few seconds, but later know that it's just about our occupation, linked to what course we choose and how we gonna do contribution, something like this. My friends were to discuss about "Reading habit" and "Vision 2020".

Some panel gives 2 minutes to prepare for discussion. Some allocates 5 minutes. It really depends on your luck. Slide out the stationery and write fast. Think fast (I fail at brain storming T.T) and take down the points. Don't write essay, though some people really have the ability to write a 200 word essay in 5 minutes ><>ask who's going to start (while some panel don't, that's rare). If you're ready, raise your hand and start. Being the first can be a good thing, or the other way. Being the first, you can share all of your points, without worrying your points being mentioned by the others. But if you are not the first one, be smart. Point stealing is commonly done in my group. They steal points and further elaborate it so that they need not to draw out new points. It's not wrong, right? ><>personal questions part. Oh this one is another crazy one. Those who take medical, I got a little list for you to prepare:
1. How do you think about that Kursus Kerjaya Kedoktoran? (Very very common)
2. How many teeth do an adult human have?
3. How many bones do an adult human have?

And for those who take other courses:
1. How do you think can contribute as a/an (job of your course) to our country?
2. How do you think can contribute as a/an (job of your course) to achieve K economy? (I think it's about the same. K economy= Economy based on Information Technology, just boom about, ha-ha)

And weird questions include:
1. What's the name of our Yang Dipertuan Agung? (Famous question in Kelantan state, Kelantanese, be prepared ><>Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, the Sultan of Terrenganu and also the 13th Sultan of Malaysia)
2. (Let your imagination goes wild, expect the worst from them... any question just to make you panic. Just answer them calmly. Er, if you really dunno, just admit it. It's only when if you REALLY don't know about that. Saying dunno too much will surely ruin your impression to them too.)

Some of the time, I noticed that if you you're asked 1 question that you dunno, and IF you keep quiet and act like thinking of it, they'll probably ask another easier question. They're kind, they won?t eat you up. Try your best to answer the second question. If you fail them once more, uh, most probably they'll not ask you any other questions anymore ><>Some of the interviewers are paid to 'shoot' people. Meaning they find out the weak point of the things you said and they question about it. So, think a bit before you wanna say something, and be prepared to answer the questions they gonna shower you.

In fact, these 2 parts are just to test your confidence. Don't be nervous (but I did T.T and the interviewer ask me to relax and don't be nervous ><>Even if you think that your answer is a bit out of topic, just continue saying. It's not really a test to your ability of giving perfect points. They'll hear whatever you say. They are kind, again I say.

What happened to me?
In personal question section, I was asked: (we didn't have self-introduction part)
Q: Why do you choose Japan? (I chose Diploma in Engineering: Japan)
A: I think that Japan has nice culture and I would like to enjoy it. The technology over there is great too. I want to study the technology over there and bring the information back to contribute to our own nation. (Meaning import technology, how silly am I :/ )
Q: I don't think that the culture over Japan is nicer than the Western places. Western people respect other people better than the Eastern people. How do you think? (And the other interviewer says in BM) Apakah pendapat kamu?
A: Namun demikian, orang Barat sering dikaitkan dengan budaya kuning... (I haven't finish my talk, but the interviewer cut through my words)
Q: (She nodded) then if we compare between Japan and Korea, why you choose Japan?
A: It's because Japan has better technology and is the closest to our country (among the other countries) (Oh gawd, both the interviewer laugh at me ==)...

This is what happened to me. It's quite brief and I was quite nervous there. Notice that if they ask in Malay, then answer in Malay. Don't answer in English if they ask in Malay. That gonna kill your chance.

The interview days are around 1st of April. There are cases where interviewers play fool with interviewees on that day(April Fool, man). An example is, they keep change the language and for this, you'll need to pay attention to the language they use and answer with that language too. They might like to play fools with ya, but not all.

For those who have learnt other Languages that meets the country(course) you're choosing, you may want to include the certificate in your clear holder. Probably the interviewers'll ask you to speak abit of it. Just say a few simple sentences. For Japanese, some of my friends said there're people just saying 'ohaiyougozaimasu, watashiwa... ' this sort of thing. Sounds simple :/

After this, they will say the session is ending and ask you all whether have any question to ask or not. Then you all will be asked to walk to them and take the clear holders, which the kerani has taken to them. They'll also remind you all to take the online personality test at eSila. At this moment, if you did well and think really need to shake their hands to perfect the whole session, Do IT. English style will do, if you're a Chinese and you do the Malay style, it's a bit weird but again, it's up to you. Then greet them thanks and leave the room. If you're the last to leave, close the door with your hand, though it'll close automatically. Do it, maybe they'll notice this, who knows?

Then don't leave there yet. Take the Slip Temu Duga (original, printed) out and hand it to the kerani, they need this one. Then you'll be asked to leave. Sigh of relieve. Here your blood pressure is normal again.

It's not end yet. You got to take the online personality test in eSila within the 10 days (from the first day of interview). Serve this test seriously. Make sure your browser doesn't break down frequently and electricity supply to your home is stable (man, not a joke ><). If not, go to your friends' house to do this. Who knows that the God wants to play fool on you due to your carelessness? Also make sure that your computer time is correct. Change CMOS battery and synchronise the date and time via internet if you're using XP or Vista IF NEEDED. This sounds funny, but this is just to make sure that the odds aren?t going to happen to you. If not mistaken, this test can only be done ONCE. Not a joke, man ><>around 250) and asked to finish in 45 minutes. There're 4 sections. First is more on moral thing (Smart smart lo here). Second part is about what are you interested on if you're given the chance. The third part is on your current ability. While the last part is about what job would you like to have if it's available to you? There must be a few NOs for the whole list of questions, unless you're the perfect guy ><>print that page as asked. Then you're done. Pray for the best. Everything ends here. Sit back and rest after weeks of hard work. May rays of luck shine upon you all.

It has been 1 year since I created this article. There're people curious that did I get JPA scholarship or not, just to make things clear, I succeeded too. The course I've chosen is KEJURUTERAAN (JEPUN). Currently studying in UTM (Setapak Jaya, KL) and will be migrating to INTEC (Shah Alam) April 09 onwards.

Tobacco is extremely addicting!

If I could give you just one message today, it would be this: smoking is extremely addicting. Once you start, you may not be able to stop — ever. And the same is true for drugs and alcohol. I can't emphasize this enough — some of you may not ever be able to stop, if you start smoking or chewing tobacco.

How long does it take to get hooked? A September 2000 study showed that one quarter of 11 to 13 years old who smoke as few as two or three cigarettes a day become addicted in just two weeks. And many of the rest got addicted shortly after that. Once hooked, the average smoker is unable to stop for seventeen years! And every year, they will spend $1200 or more on tobacco products, to maintain their addiction.

What could you buy with the money you would save in two years? How about your first car! Over 10 years, you would save $12,000! Let's look at someone trying to quit smoking. For most addicted smokers, the addition is about half-mental, half-physical. This varies with each individual.

The physical portion of the addiction is to nicotine. The psychological part of the addiction is to the relaxing, familiar sensation of handling the cigarette, watching its curling smoke, the deep and relaxing breathing associated with inhaling and exhaling, the taste, and so on. When quitting, a smoker's conscious mind says, "I will stop smoking — no problem." But the unconscious mind has been conditioned that cigarettes give pleasure, and that's all it can focus on.

The addicted, unconscious mind says, 'Give me a cigarette — now!' It only recognizes what feels good, or what doesn't feel good. It demands a cigarette without regard to right or wrong, and rebels against the conscious mind's decision to not smoke. During the process of quitting, however, a new habit of being a nonsmoker forms. The unconscious mind gradually gets used to not smoking, and the urges to smoke die away. Once they get addicted, nearly all smokers try to stop a number of times. But most fail repeatedly at quitting, and many are never able to stop smoking.

Reality check: there is no product which works well. 85 out of every 100 quitters using the nicotine patch or gum go back to smoking within a year. Once you are hooked, there's just no easy way out. For smokers who quit without being in a program, it's worse — 95 out of 100 of them fail, and return to the habit within a year. The lesson is clear. With no program, statistically smokers have only a 5% chance of success. With a program, the average quitter's chances increase to 15%. So getting into a program increases your chances of quitting by three times. Not trying at all, of course, means that nothing will change.

If you are smoking now or using chew tobacco, I urge you to first admit to yourself that maybe you are smoking less out of choice, and more because you are addicted. Later, when you make a clear and firm decision to stop, getting support from a good program will ease your way and lighten your burden. In short, get help. In summary, if you are smoking, don't be afraid to get help. If you are using tobacco now, or experimenting with it, see the school nurse — or talk to an adult.

Connecting with others is a big theme today. It's okay to talk to someone and get help. If you can't find anyone, get into an online program. And if you haven't started smoking yet, remember — tobacco is extremely addicting. You can get totally hooked much faster than you think. The best way to avoid getting addicted is simply to not smoke — no matter what. In other words, almost no one will start smoking after 19! Nearly all of the tobacco industry's new customers are teens. Who are the only new recruits the tobacco companies can get? It's you — the young. How do you feel about that? Be smart, and don't be fooled. And remember how very addicting tobacco really is.

Some teens take up smoking because they think it makes them look older, but it doesn't. To most people it just looks like you're making a big mistake, and like you're trying to make yourself look older. There's no rush, you know. It's okay to be the age you are. It's okay to be yourself, right here and right now. I advise you to enjoy the present, and all the good moments your unique and special life brings you.

All of you are now in process of crossing the bridge from childhood to adulthood. You're moving at your own pace, and you should be. In the teen years, things can start moving more quickly, like rapids when a river gets narrow. Whatever you do, please don't make the mistake of risking getting addicted to cigarettes, drugs or alcohol in your efforts to set yourself apart from and establish your individuality. Remember, it often takes just two weeks for 11 to 13 years old to get hooked on tobacco.

If you feel angry, don't turn your anger inward, on yourself — by smoking, or by becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol. If you do, you hurt only yourself, and you may not ever be able to stop. These addictions have a very good chance of killing you. So be smart, and do your best to make responsible choices.

Cigarettes are yesterday's news — they are on the way out. If you get addicted to smoking, you'll be on the way out too.

MBO Cinema Kuching!!!

The MBO Cinema finally arrived at The Spring Shopping Mall, Kuching on 09/09/2009...
Before this, our Kuching already has two cineplexes - Star Cineplex and Lotus Five Star.
And now, they are going to "fight" again with one more competitor...hahaha

As we know, the cinema is new therefore it is nice and clean...just like "new jamban"~
The seats are spacious and comfortable

"A report from The Star says that this 8 screen cinema which also boast of 1,500 seats and Dolby Digital Surround EX sound system plus Kuching’s very first couple seats. The largest hall, which would be able to accomodate about 4oo seats, would also boast a 3D screen, which is MBO’s very first in Malaysia, and it is worth to note that this cinema would be MBO’s 2nd largest outlet in Malaysia after their outlet Ampang, Selangor."
